Observe that the aspirants will
be given 120 minutes to solve 200 questions. This way, an aspirant has roughly
half minute to solve one question. This implies that the most important skill
to master is time management. Aspirants should understand the grave necessity
of being very quick at their attempt. Don’t waste time in switching the
questions turn by turn. For instance, you appear a question related to the
topic Reading Comprehension. At that moment it’s obvious (sometimes mentioned
in the directions) that next 6-10 questions are going to be on the same topic.
Say, you want to attempt one-liner questions first and attempt Reading
Comprehension questions later. In this case, don’t switch questions turn by
turn. Directly jump 6-10 questions without wasting 6-8 seconds on jumping each
question individually.
While managing time and trying to
answer the questions quickly, make sure that you don’t answer wrong in haste.
Try to maintain equanimity and not to get anxious. Feeling worry and
nervousness can reduce your efficiency. Being calm and relaxed while answering
the questions is one of the most important aspects of scoring high.
To maintain composure, aspirants
need to be familiar with each kind of question. No question should appear new
to the aspirants in the examination hall. This makes the aspirants feel
confident. This self confidence can be gained by taking as much mock tests as
possible. Take 4-5 mock tests a week. Mock
tests SSC CGL provide you with various topics to practice. They also
introduce you with the new patterns of the questions. They make you habituated
even to those topics which are not friendly to you. To be noted here that a
question can be answered speedily provided that the aspirant is adept at
solving every kind of question.
Taking mock tests will prove to
be fruitful only if you analyse your performance in each subject. An aspirant
should know that, in mock tests, where he/she lacked and on which topic he/she
needs to work more. Don’t hesitate to ask your teacher if you have any doubt.
It’s been observed and worth mentioning
that many aspirants possess lackadaisical attitude towards starting the
preparation. Those aspirants are advised that they should not delay. Delaying
is of no benefit and leaves you with very less time for the preparation. So,
just remember present time is the perfect time to start the preparation.
Also, students are advised to go
through the previous year’s paper, and attempt SSC
Video Course from MakeMyExam to make a grip in cracking the
examination.
